Knotpop is a lost album of deviant new wave San Fransisco duo IXNA. Like Brian Eno and The Flying Lizards, the album is a sideways and inverted take on pop music. Jay Cloidt and Marina La Palma were students of David Behrman and Robert Ashley at Mills College, inspired by their infamously irreverent faculty to nudge the avant-garde out of its stuffy tweed and into something more exciting, something clad in denim & leather. Recorded at the Center For Contemporary Music at Mills in 1981, the album combines Cloidt's studio wizardry, sampling abilities and vibrant bass with La Palma’s expressive vocals, and love of made-up and invented languages (Esperanto). IXNA only released one 7" during that time, featuring two songs from this unrealised album, which became sought after over the decades. Mastered from the original reels.Knotpop by IXNA
Seminal French electronic LP from Ludovic Navarre, full of timeless jazzy deep house & downtempo cuts. Ft. "Rose Rouge", "Sure Thing", "So Flute" etc.
70s avant-garde, modern classical & Buddhist-influenced jams along with minimal/ ambient soundscapes. Remastered 2xLP, with 12 page booklet including liner notes by Tim Lawrence, Ernie Brooks and Arthur Russell.Instrumentals by Arthur Russell
2LP Music On Vinyl reissue (180g) of 3rd LP including fan favourites "The Time Is Now", “Pure Pleasure Seeker” & “Sing It Back (Boris Musical Mix).
Ace 5 Industrial / EBM / New Beat / Techno EP from Kris Baha on Power Station (Melbourne). Dark & heavy! After his Kinfolk released collab with Otologic's Nick Murrary, Kris Baha makes a welcome return to his Power Station creation. A versatile five track EP that will get you through the night, one pictures Yello's virgin ketamine experiments on 'Mind Your Head' before 'Jeff' comes to the party with his mad professor dub, giving you whiplash with its belting beats and crashing guitar stabs. Originally designed as an hour long opening score for the namesake Melbourne club night, 'Around You Go' is an edited warm up tool, the crossroad between Düsseldorf and Elettronica Meccanica. If issued in 1983, '2 Nights in Armenia' would have lived on as a Cosmic classic while 'Arp 2' is the listeners' exit music, a fork hanging from the power socket.
Stunning choral ambient recordings on Stroom. Music inspired by ancient Lithuanian songs, organic sounds, and subtle electronics. Highest recommendation!
