Brilliant first release from Detroit label 'Just Us' - ran by Bill Spencer & Izaak (from Loveshadow). Trombone & Piano led soul-jazz funk fusion, featuring the Headhunters' Paul Jackson on bass and Mike Clark on drums. Shades of the Mizell Brothers, Norman Connors’ Aquarian Dream, and Detroit’s Tribe Records. Heavy! This is a slightly edited tracklist of the 2007 CD only release.
Now-Again presents the definitive Tribe Records reissues. Reflections In The Sea Of Nurnen: Originally planned for issue on Strata-East, Hammond took his collaboration with Durrah to Detroit and issued his masterpiece. Lacquered by Bernie Grundman.Includes never-before-seen archival photos and rare ephemera from Tribe’s mid-1970s heyday.
Back in... 3rd album by Melbourne neo-soul quartet, released on Brainfeeder, 2021.Mood Valiant by Hiatus Kaiyote
Fletcher Moss Park by Matthew Halsall
A collection of recordings taken from the elusive Berlin band I.A.O., spanning their third phase from 1988 to 1995. Phase III commemorates the bands final line-up of three members; Achim Kohlberger, Ralf Östereich and Carsten Zielske. The sounds on this retrospective vary widely, however, link with threads of melancholic sequences, angular jamming and a focus on electronic soundscapes. Nice work by Left Ear.
