Dark Entries comp of Mexican New Wave & Post Punk circa 1980 - 89. Pretty leftfield/ experimental but very good! 'Corazón' is a favourite...Back Up: Mexican Tecno Pop 1980-1989 by Dark Entries Records
Dark Entries reissue of mind-blowing 12" from Parisian Jean-Marie Salaun. Both tracks were staples in the DJ sets of Beppe Loda and Daniele Baldelli, finding a spiritual home in the Cosmic scene of Italy.“Closer” started its life as an electric bassline played by Jean-Marie. Claude Arto sequenced the floating synthesisers. Laurent Grangier and Frédéric Lapierre of reggae band Immigration Act played the horns. The lyrics “Hard to say. Easy to do. We don’t need to say what we do” were a statement on creation as narration expressed Jean-Marie’s ennui, “I’m tired with it.” “Tam Tam” was inspired by Burundi drummers playing on the plaza in front of Beaubourg where the song was recorded. Jean-Marie enlisted one of the drummers from the circle, Georges Atta Dikalo, to lay down percussion for the song. The female singers were from the French Caribbean and added falsetto tribal chants. An exact replica of the OG '81 edition, remastered for vinyl, with double-sided insert of photos & liner notes by Jean-Marie Salaun.Essential!

Featuring exclusive tracks from Daze, Mic Mills, Albrecht LaBrooy, Lucy Cliche and more, the comp also marks the first vinyl outing for newcomers Chiara Kickdrum, Ben Keynes and a fresh Dan White / Ryan Hunter collaboration Turner Street Sound.Domestic Documents Vol 1: Compiled by Butter Sessions and Noise In My Head by Various Artists
Tony Allen '84 masterpiece, marking his move towards a more dub, electronic sound - big with both the Disco & Balearic crowds.Remastered reissue in heavy tip-on sleeve, originally Released on Earthworks Records. Holds an extra track "Olokun” - previously unavailable on vinyl.
Rare 1978 album from one of the pioneers of Italian electronic music, and new age visionary Il Guardiano Del Faro aka Federico Monti Arduini. Holds the sublime mellow Balearic cut 'Lady Moon'.Viewed as a precursor of New Age sound art, Arduini was one of the first producers in Italy to use the Moog synthesiser, he was also an early adopter of the tradition among electronic producers to use a moniker to disguise his identity. Il Guardiano Del Faro (translated as “the guardian of lighthouse”) is a nod to the small Italian fishing town Porto Santo Stefano, where Arduini created his studio in the mid-70s.He produced a number of albums from this seaside idyl ofelectronic instruments and tape recorders, but Oasis stands out from the pack. Released in 1978, it became a cult classic for its experimental sounds and emotional expressions. Spiritual synth sounds cover the album in a dreamy haze, oscillating between ambient and psychedelic. Sparing deployment of the Roland rhythm box gives dance floor favourites ‘Disco Divina’ and ‘Oasis’ touches of space disco.
